The Mølleå was naturally formed after the Ice Age and was excavated in the 1880s as part of Copenhagen's defense works. Due to this excavation, the river today has more the character of a canal. The Frederiksdal area is a popular destination rich in nature, history, and exciting places to explore. For instance, you can take a walk in the beautiful forest area around Frederiksdal Castle, which is open to the public in many places.
The boat trip on Lyngby Lake and Mølleå lasts about 1 hour, but you are welcome to hop off at the stops along the route and combine the trip with a walk, picnic, or other activities.
