Aarhus Cathedral is located at Store Torv and is a large Romanesque basilica, a huge project that took 400 years to build. The building's outer walls and the four round-arched chapels on the north wall of the transepts have still been preserved. In the years 1449-1500, the heavy and dark building was transformed into a Gothic cathedral. The cathedral is Denmark's longest church and measures 93 metres. It contains approx. 1000 seats. Visit for a tour of the church, experience music or come to a service. In addition, it is possible to visit the cathedral tower and enjoy a fantastic view of Aarhus. Please note that it is closed when there are events in the church.
